Using Google Gmail as a Kryptronic Webmail Client (Updated Nov. 2018)

Configuring your Google Gmail account to access your Kryptronic Managed Hosting email account(s) has never been easier. Google Gmail is a great webmail program, and can be used to access your Kryptronic Managed Hosting email account(s) from anywhere, using a standard web browser.

Step 1: Access Your Google Gmail Account

Log into your active Gmail account (not your Kryptronic Managed Hosted email) at https://mail.google.com/ and click the gear icon to access your Gmail Settings. Access the Accounts and Import tab and click on the Add a mail account link under the Check Mail from other accounts section. Enter your email address and click next.

Step 2: Set up POP3 (Secure) Incoming Mail

On the next screen Import emails from my other account (POP3) should already be selected if not, select it and click next.

Email Address: Should be displayed automatically by Gmail
Username: Your full email
Password: Your email password
Server Name: Kryptronic Mail Server Name (Provided)
Port: 995
Check: Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server**
Check: Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail
Check: Label incoming Messages white your email selected

Click Add Account. Gmail will now ask you if you want to send mail as your email you just added.

Check: Yes, I want to be able to send mail as *Your Email*

Click Next.

Name: Will display your name (You can change it if you want)
Email address: Should be *Your Email*
Check: Treat as an alias

Click Next Step.

Step 3: Set up SMTP (Secure) Outgoing Mail

SMTP Server: Kryptronic Mail Server Name (Provided)
Port: 587
Username: Your Full Email Address
Password: Your Email Password
Check: Secured connection using TLS (recommended)

Click Add Account.

You will need to confirm with a verification number sent by Google. You will need to have you email open and handy on another window or device. Enter the number in the white box you received in your email and click verify.

Step 4: Multiple Mailboxes (Split View of Gmail and Your Domain)

After the first 3 steps all of your emails will funnel right one inbox. To get a separated inbox view you need to do the following.

Click the gear icon to access your Configure Inbox Settings. Uncheck every box except Primary and click save. Next Click the gear icon to access your Settings. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the Settings page. Go down to Multiple Inboxes and select enable then click save changes. In the same settings page click the Multiple Inboxes tab at the top of the Settings page.

Pane 0: to:Your Full Email (example – to:name@domain.com)
Pane 1: to:Your Gmail Email (example – to:name@gmail.com)

Click save changes.

** If you are not accessing your mail using any other services or mail clients, you should leave the box ‘Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server’ unchecked during Incoming Mail setup to ensure your mailbox is kept clean on the server.
